His death was a surprise to his friends, from the fact that he wa 5 CONC s not taken ill until late Friday night. As was his usual custom, he cloed his store about 1 5 CONC 0 o'clock and immediately went to his apartments in the second story of hte building where h 5 CONC e retired. About 11 o'clock he aroused his wife and told her he was suffering great pain 5 CONC . A simple remedy was brought into use, but as that brought no relief, the family physician w 5 CONC as summoned. It seemed that everything given by the physician proved futile in the way of aff 5 CONC ording relief. 5 CONT The patient grew worse Saturday and other physicians were summoned. It was first thought tha 5 CONC t he had appendicitis, but early yesterday morning the physicians decided that he had an acut 5 CONC e case of peritonitis and that he could not survive. He was apprised yesterday morning tha 5 CONC t he could not live. He told his wife to have a lawyer summoned that he might make a will. S 5 CONC oon after the will was dictated the patient was put under narcotics as he was suffering inten 5 CONC se pain, but without result. He was conscious up until a few minutes before he expired. 5 CONT John Eberle was thirty years of age having been born in the county, a few miles from the cit 5 CONC y on the Bardstown Pike. About six years ago he married Miss Mary Reker, of the county, wh 5 CONC o survives him with one child. His mother Mrs. Hannah Eberle, also survives him as well a 5 CONC s a sister, Mrs. Theodore Evers of 742 Sixth Street. He leaves two brothers, both of whom re 5 CONC side in the city. Mr.Eberle first engaged in the grocery business six years ago, but abou 5 CONC t a year ago he purchased the business of Theodore Evers, at Sixth and Chestnut Streets. 5 CONT Mr. Eberle was a prominent member of the Catholic Knights of America.
